At IMAj Institute, the Cosmetic Laser Technician Program goes beyond the basics by combining your passion for skincare with advanced cosmetic laser training. As the exclusive school partnered with Aesthetic ProTools, you’ll train on industry-defining technology that’s raising the standard for medspa treatments. You’ll move beyond the classroom to spend the core of your training delivering advanced laser services in our state-of-the art dedicated laser labs.

Cosmetic Laser Technician

Attending IMAj Institute’s Cosmetic Laser Technician Program ensures you’ll walk away with more than just credentials. You’ll earn your Laser Safety Officer (LSO) Certificate and become a Cosmetic Laser Technician (CLT) through the Arizona Department of Health. But what truly sets your training apart is the full access to all of Aesthetic ProTools technology.

Throughout your training you’ll get experience using in-demand cosmetic laser modalities such as VADER®, Artisan®, Tri-Pulse®, BUBBL® and more. By the time you graduate, you’ll have performed 70+ laser and high energy treatments across a variety of skin concerns and client needs. IMAj Institute demonstrates our commitment to you with free, after-graduation refresher courses. We ensure your skills will stay sharp and your training evolves with the industry.

  • Client Assessment: You will identify client needs and customize treatments 
  • Laser Function: You will understand how lasers and IPL interact with the skin 
  • Device Knowledge: You will learn when to use specific lasers based on the clients skin and needs 
  • Safety & Protocols: You will recognize contraindications and follow proper safety procedures 
  • Treatment Planning: You will match laser services to client goals 
  • Hands-On Training: You will practice real techniques using Aesthetic ProTools and other devices 
  • Communication Skills: You will set expectations and explain treatment outcomes clearly 
  • Professional Readiness: You will build the confidence and experience to step into the field 
  • Must be 18 years or older or have a parent or legal guardian present to provide consent 
  • You must have completed training or be enrolled in training in the areas of Cosmetology, Aesthetics, Nursing, or other medical professions and be able to provide proof of education or enrollment 
  • Provide identification at the time of enrollment. Types of identification accepted, 
    • United States Birth Certificate 
    • Valid Drivers License (Any State) 
    • Valid State Identification Card (Any State) 
    • Valid Military Identification 
    • Valid Passport 
    • Social Security Card
  • Must be able to provide proof of high school completion or its equivalent. This can include any of the following, 
    • High School Diploma 
    • GED
    • Homeschool Diploma 
    • College Transcript 
    • Verified Foreign Equivalent 
    • Ability-to-Benefit (ATB) Test Results 
  • Must have the ability to electronically access digital learning curriculum including audio
  • 136 clock hours
  • Includes Laser Safety Officer (LSO) Certification

Cosmetic Laser Training for Health-Care Professionals

For licensed medical professionals ready to expand their scope of practice, we offer a focused laser training course designed to complement your existing credentials. You’ll learn the core cosmetic treatments such as hair reduction, tattoo removal, skin rejuvenation, and more. Our program meets Arizona’s requirements for Registered Nurses (RNs), Nurse Practitioners (NPs), Physician Assistants (PAs), Medical Doctors (MDs) and other qualified providers looking to offer advanced aesthetic services without completing a full certification program. 

  • Must be a licensed medical professional such as a Registered Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant or Medical Doctor. 
  • Laser Safety Officer (L.S.O.) Certificate is included
  • Approved by the Arizona Department of Health
  • Approved by the Bureau of Radiation Control (BRC)
  • Tuition: $4,500.00 

Supervising Laser Technician

If you’re a Certified Laser Technician ready to lead and mentor others, the Supervising Laser Technician Program is designed to elevate your expertise. This advanced training provides you with the requirements of the Arizona Department of Health to supervise cosmetic laser procedures and support students in their clinical training. 

In the SLT program, you’ll complete 100 documented treatments in core modalities such as laser hair reduction, laser tattoo removal and more. You’ll work with lasers, IPL, and HFMC equipment performing specialty procedures contributing to a total of at least 600 treatments by graduation. This extensive experience not only sharpens your skillset but also prepares you to guide others with accuracy, confidence and a deep understanding of advanced cosmetic laser and high energy device protocols.

  • Schedule: On campus training Monday-Thursday, 8am-5pm
  • Treatments required for completion, using lasers, IPL and HFMC devices:
    • Tattoo Removal: 100
    • Hair Reduction: 100
    • Collagen Synthesis: 100
    • Skin Tightening: 100
    • Pigment Reduction: 100
    • Vascular Reduction: 100 
  • Eligibility: Must have an active Arizona State Laser Certificate 
  • Tuition: $5,000

Additional Fees & Costs

For all programs, there is an additional $200 for uniforms, $100 per Application and $200 for Enrollment.
