Advanced Aesthetic Program Graduation Requirements

Arizona State Board of Barbering and Cosmetology Asthetician Licensing Requirements

  • Document 600 clock hours of training with a combination of classrooms, clinics, and on-line learning.
  • Meet graduation requirements from a licensed Arizona Aesthetician School such as IMAj Institute.

After graduation, students must successfully pass a two-part State Board of Barbering and Cosmetology Examination for Aestheticians.  Prior to being scheduled to take the State Board test, the student must show proof of lawful presence in the United States.

IMAj Institute Advanced Aesthetics Residential Program Graduation Requirements

Advanced Aesthetics Residential

  • 600 clock hours
  • Passing grade on practical evaluation prior to taking clients (
  • 80 % cumulative grade on graded evaluations and assignments
  • 80% cumulative attendance
  • Completion of all required hands-on treatments
  • 80% on Comprehensive Final Exam
  • 80% on Final Practical Evaluation
  • Current with IMAj Institute’s financial agreements, and all fees paid

IMAj Institute Advanced Aesthetics Hybrid & Accelerated Hybrid Program Graduation Requirements

  • 600 clock hours
  • Passing grade on practical evaluation prior to taking clients
  • 80 % cumulative grade on graded evaluations and assignments
  • 75% cumulative attendance
  • Completion of all required hands-on treatments
  • 80% on Comprehensive Final Exam
  • 80% on Final Practical Evaluation
  • Current with IMAj Institute’s financial agreements, and all fees paid

Aesthetic Instructor Graduation Requirements

Arizona State Board of Barbering and Cosmetology Aesthetic Instructor Licensing Requirements

  • Document a total of 350 clock with a combination of classrooms, written and practical assignments.
  • Must meet all Aesthetic Instructor Program graduation requirements from by a Licensed School such as IMAj Institute

IMAj Institute Aesthetic Instructor Graduation Requirements

  • 350 clock hours
  • 80% cumulative attendance
  • 80% on Comprehensive Final Exam
  • Passing grade on Final Practical Evaluation
  • Current with IMAj Institute’s financial agreements, and all fees paid

Cosmetic Laser Technician Program Graduation Requirements

Arizona Bureau of Radiation Control Certified Laser Technician Requirements

  • 40 hours didactic training
  • 24 hours hands on training for laser hair reduction
  • 24 hours hands on training for other cosmetic laser or IPL treatments
  • Successfully pass a comprehensive test consisting of at least 50 multiple choice questions with a minimum grade of 80%.
  • Complete a Laser Training Program from a Licensed School such as IMAj Institute.

IMAj Institute Certified Laser Technician Graduation Full Time Program Requirements

  • 136 clock hours
  • 80 % Laser Safety Officer Exam
  • Passing grade on practical evaluation prior to taking clients 
  • 80 % cumulative grade on graded evaluations and assignments
  • 80% cumulative attendance
  • 80 % on comprehensive final exam 
  • Passing grade on final practical evaluation
  • Completion of all required hands-on training procedures
  • Current with IMAj Institute’s financial agreements, and all fees paid

IMAj Institute Certified Laser Technician Graduation Part Time Program Requirements

  • 136 clock hours
  • 80 % Laser Safety Officer Exam
  • Passing grade on practical evaluation prior to taking clients 
  • 80 % cumulative grade on graded evaluations and assignments
  • 75% cumulative attendance
  • 80 % on comprehensive final exam 
  • Passing grade on final practical evaluation
  • Completion of all required hands-on training procedures
  • Current with IMAj Institute’s financial agreements, and all fees paid

Students in Hybrid Programs

Distance learners must have access to a device that can run the newest version of Google Chrome and can view and record audio and visual recordings.  Academic achievement earned via distance education may not be accepted for reciprocity of eligible for licensure in other states. 

Working in Arizona

In Arizona an Aesthetician and Aesthetic Instructor must be licensed by the Arizona State Board of Barbering and Cosmetology and Cosmetic Laser Technicians must be certified by the Arizona Bureau of Radiation Control. 

Physical demands of an Aestheticians as well as Laser Technicians include sitting and/or standing for extended periods of time bending over a client’s face or body to perform treatments.  Different employers may have additional requirements depending on the type of business they have and the type of machines that are used.
